    Hello from Holly-Bee. It seems like an age since I last posted anything, so thought I would share some goings-on from our Devon flower garden. Summer has gone by in a blur (seriously we’ve no idea how it slipped by so quickly) and now we’re on our way to autumn, and winding the garden down. But for now we’ve still got lots of gorgeous seasonal flowers. The complete stars at this time of year are the Dahlias… Bolshie and showy, but with such charm and with such a variety to choose from; I feel like there is a dahlia to suit any taste or colour palette and I love them! I’ve tried to document the dahlias we’ve grown this year, noting down where I think there may be gaps in terms of colour or shapes, and create next year’s wish list already: keen.     A busy August

    It’s been a busy August here: weddings, markets, bouquets, and our usual deliveries. Luckily the flower garden in Dartington is bursting with beautiful blooms perfect for cutting…  The dahlias are coming into their own too, so will be posting lots of pictures soon, but in the meantime here some other goodies from Holly-Bee, enjoy x

    July Flowers

    It’s been a while since I posted about our garden, it’s looking wonderful; all the hard work is paying off, and rewarding us with armfuls of beautiful flowers… Here are just a few pictures of the latest goings on, both in the flower garden and studio- enjoy!

    Roses

    The Rose Garden

    Roses… wonderful, wonderful Roses. My favourite flower(probably). The scent is just  intoxicating, the colours and variants in tones and textures are beautiful. The luxury they add to arrangements is second to none, and have I mentioned the scent already?!

    This year, in a very soggy February, we moved and planted lots of bare- root roses in our flower garden at Holly-Bee. I think we can now say we have a Rose ‘area’, with over 120 bushes, and after that initial hard work of planting and pruning, the payoff is here.  It’s my ‘happy place’ to go to,  with the roses all flowering away, and the scent heady in the air.

    In a moment of deadheading I made up a bouquet and tried to capture the beauty of these blooms, with a little help from Buzz (our lovely spaniel puppy/dog).
